So public sector pensions have been overpaid, all very embarassing. But what caught my eye reading the link was the comment from David Cameron -

“You have to ask why this was allowed to go on for such a long time.
“This government has been in power for a lot of years. They have to get a better grip.”

This mistake was made in 1978. So either David Cameron doesn’t remember the Thatcher and Major years or is trying to make us forget them. Of the 30 years since this mistake was made we’ve had 12 years of Labour goverments but 18 years of Conservative goverments, none of whom caught this mistake. Does any rational person really think this goverment is to blame for this mistake?
